Black & White With Lace Tights

I’m back with one of my favorite winter trends, lace tights under ripped denim. You probably either love it or hate it. I did this a few weeks ago here in a completely different way, so this time I decided to kick it up a notch. It’s funny because I used to do this when I was younger, although not with fishnets or lace tights. I would wear solid black tights
underneath my denim. In my humble opinion, I think it’s just a really fun way to layer during the winter season.  I think I might prefer doing this with lace tights over regular fishnets too!

Coat: Forever21 [old, love this] | Sweater: H&M | Jeans: TopShop
Tights: HUE [similar] | Shoes: Target | Bag: Mezzanotte

My goal with this outfit was to put a fun little twist to the classic black and white
monochrome look. I have to admit, this was one of those days where I had no idea what to wear. I probably tried on a bunch of different things and hated it all when all of a sudden I spotted this white coat hanging in my closet. Everything sort of just clicked from there. This coat is actually a few years old, it’s another piece that I got for fashion week several years back and I still love it. In fact, literally everything that I am wearing here is old. I have been wearing older pieces so much lately and I love constantly coming up with new ways to wear them all. I know that I have worn the HELL out of these jeans. Remember when I first got them during my stay in Ireland? I feel like the more I wear them, the better they have become. I decided to wear pumps so that I could let the tights show more. The hat was added because of my bad hair day, but I ended up loving the way everything came together. Are you feeling the tights with pumps?

You guys know I have always been about affordable fashion, but I’ll throw some more
expensive pieces into the mix here and there. I think it’s a great thing to be able to mix highs and lows. As I am getting older, I do realize the importance of investing a little more in certain things. I think it might be time for me to finally invest in one really good handbag. I’ve never had a designer bag before, so I am totally handing in my late pass here. I feel like I deserve to be able to get that for myself at 33. I have also been eyeing that Gucci belt that I knowwww literally every blogger already has. That is definitely not why I want it though. I’ve never been one to get something just because everyone else has it. It honestly grew on me, a lot, especially after seeing how many different ways that one piece can be worn. I feel like the thinner version of it has been calling my name. I’ve been in desperate need of a good belt too because all of mine are crap! Have any of you invested in any designer pieces before? What’s your take on mixing highs and lows? I love getting your feedback! ❤️

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have an amazing Wednesday!

  1. I definitely can’t afford to buy designer pieces and I’m all about affordable fashion anyway. However, I recently FINALLY treated myself to a beautiful YSL wallet and could not be happier. It is an investment but I did a lot of research before I picked the right one for me, plus I bought it on http://www.tradesy.com. I recommend you check it out. They sell used designer pieces but some of them are pretty much brand new. At least my wallet was and I got it for $150 less than the original price. 😉 I hope that helps! But if you want to buy a designer bag from the store directly, I totally get it. Treat yourself, Naty!

I’ve heard about this site before I will have to check it out! I am all for a good deal lol. Yay for your YSL wallet! YSL and Chanel are actually two of the main designers that I was thinking of for the handbag. I agree it’s best to research something like this. It’s definitely not something I can afford to do all the time. I’ve been saving up a lot for my NYC apartment and for my travels, but it would be nice to invest in at least one good designer piece in the near future. 🙂

      • Oh I had no idea you’re saving up for the NYC apartment! That is amazing and probably so good for blogging, too.

  2. This is one of my favorite outfits ever, I’m so in love.
