Boyfriend Denim & Lace-Up Knits

“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but
whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

I couldn’t post today without acknowledging MLK day and honoring his legacy in some way. I love this quote from him because of that forward movement message. It is so inspiring and motivating, just as he was. It’s a message that I think we often need to be reminded of. Let us continue to celebrate his legacy, today and always. 💛bfdenim2

Denim Jacket: Lovers & Friends [similar here, here & here] | Sweater: H&M [love this & this] Jeans: Cotton On | Boots: Isola | Clutch: ClareV | Sunglasses: Sunday Somewhere

Believe it or not, the inspiration behind this look came from the beautiful weather we had one day last week. It honestly felt like spring and I couldn’t wait to remove some layers and whip out the denim. I’m all about an oversized fit, especially when it comes to denim jackets. I’ll just pretend I’m wearing my boyfriend’s jacket. 🙄 I got this one a few years ago and didn’t give it much love. I thought that it would pair perfectly over the lace-up sweater, adding in some rugged and laid back vibes to the outfit. This is such a great transitional item too once we start to head into the spring season. I actually believe that most pieces can be worn all year round, it’s just a matter of adding on or removing layers! I decided to darken up the color palette a bit by wearing my black jeans and boots. I’m all about these neutrals lately. The leopard clutch was a great way to incorporate some print and I love how this bright pink lip added in some color too.

Now let’s talk beauty for a second. I tested out the new Maybelline Dream Cushion
Foundation
and have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I typically wear high end foundation so it’s always amazing to come across a drug store one that works well for me. It has a light to medium coverage, but blends really well. It was super easy to apply and it’s meant for touching up on-the-go. I have a feeling I will be wearing this one more often. As for my hair, can you believe how long it’s getting? I think I am going to let it grow for now because I miss the versatility of longer locks. For those who have been asking, lately I have been curling it with the T3 Micro wand. I used the biggest barrel for this look to give it a wavy texture.

I hope that all you beauties have an amazing start to this new week! ❤️
