Bumble Bee

This outfit is for all my fellow petites.   I’m 4’11 wearing culottes, so you can totally rock them too!

I’ve been having a moment with both wide-leg pants and culottes for a while now.   They may not be the easiest thing for us short girls to wear, but they’re definitely doable.

Uh huh, you know what it is black and yellow black and yellow. [ha!] Sorry couldn’t help but get those lyrics in my head when I looked back at these photos.  I guess you could say that I was channeling my inner bumble bee with this outfit.  I don’t wear black and yellow together too often, but it’s a color combo that I have always liked.   

I wore this last week when it was still in the 70s.  I had to take advantage!  These pants are so bold, so I didn’t want to do too much else in terms of the styling.  For me, the best way to wear culottes is with a crop top.  That’s only if they’re high-waisted though.  I think it creates a better balance overall.  I did want to accessorize though, so I went with my favorite gold coin statement necklace and leopard clutch to add in a little something extra to the outfit.  It’s just enough, but not too much.  Have any of you tried out the whole culottes trend yet?  If so, what’s your favorite way to wear them?
