“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.”
I found this location over the weekend and my mom instantly had a vision for a photo that she wanted to capture. She framed me perfectly within the scenery and this was the outcome. As soon as I saw the image, I was instantly reminded of the quote above. I love when a picture speaks to you or conveys a message. Of course, that message will be different for everyone, but for me, this is it. No matter how hard the world might push against me, within me, there is something stronger – something better, pushing right back. I feel like everything around me in this photo represents those difficult times, but here I am, in the midst of it all, still standing strong.
Outfit Details
Plaid Shirt: H&M (love this one) / Chambray: Kut From The Cloth (old, similar)
Sneakers: Target / Bag: H&M (love this) / Sunglasses: ThreadSence
Switching gears for a moment, I wore this outfit for a little bit of Sunday Funday. It was so beautiful outside and I really wanted to wear something a little different than what I usually go for. I styled this long plaid shirt as a dress [4’11 benefits] and decided to keep it casual with these white canvas sneakers. It seemed too plain though, so to add in an unexpected element, I tied this chambray top around my waist. Shirt dresses are a big trend right now. I remember back in college when I asked my father if I could wear one of his button down shirts as a dress. I ended up wearing a blue one and belting it. I think he thought I was crazy. 🙂
I’ve really been doing my best to come up with new content for the blog, which includes different styled looks, topics and a better variety of scenery. I hope you like!
Enjoy the day loves. <3
