I was searching for the perfect chair for months and couldn’t seem to find what I wanted. Over 4th of July weekend I decided to stop by Marshalls and there it was in their home section. It was the last one too, so I know it was waiting for me! I needed something neutral that would go with the dark green carpet and floral curtains, so this one was really perfect. And it’s so comfortable. Isn’t she chic and classy? 🙂 The same day I went to Target on the hunt for a white desk (here). There was only two left and it was on sale, so I snatched it up! It’s clean and simple with one drawer, which is exactly what I wanted. Plus, it gives me a ton of work space.
One of the reasons why I love fashion so much is that it allows me to be creative. I’ve always been a very visual and “hands on” kind of person, so doing little projects, like revamping a new space, is one of my favorite things to do. It allows me to create. I could seriously get lost for hours in stores like Michaels, Target, Home Goods, etc. As you’ve seen from a few of my previous posts, I’ve been working on creating my closet/office room for months. I wasn’t able to do everything all at once, so I decided to focus on one section at a time. The main thing that I still needed to get was a new chair and desk, and I’m happy to say that I finally got both! I spend the majority of my time in this room, so I really wanted to create both an organized and inspiring place for me to be that also showcases my style and personality. I also recently got one more storage unit that I have to finish setting up, so once that is complete I will do one last “room tour.” But for now, I wanted to share my desk and chair along with some of my favorite room decor pieces!
I’ve always been very big on motivational & inspirational quotes. If you follow me on instagram, then you’ve probably seen me use a ton of different ones as captions for my photos. I strongly believe that having the right mentality makes a huge difference in our lives. Quotes are a great reminder to stay strong and positive during the times that we may feel weak. A few months before my father got sick, we had talked about writing and publishing a book with our own quotes and inspiring messages. Not many people knew this about him, but my father was an amazing writer, especially when it came to poetry. He definitely passed down his love of writing to me. I really wanted to fill up this space with very positive and powerful messages that could be a daily reminder to me. So you will see a lot of that in this post.
I fell in love with these little decorative books at Michaels. I got them on sale for $3 each. They look really pretty on my desk, but the best part is they open up. So for now, I’m storing my USBs in there.
I’m really big on stationary. I love snail mail and sending out thank you cards. I got this stationary holder at Michaels for $5. I love that it has different quotes written all over.
Quote blocks are the best decorative pieces. I have this small Dream Bigger one on my desk. It was $2 at Michaels. Then I have the Good Things Come To Those Who Create on my shelf. That one was $5. I want more!
This big N was also $5. It makes a nice personalized and decorative piece for a desk or room. Michaels has a ton of amazing things that are all super affordable. I seriously wanted to buy everything.
Best planner ever! I ordered this from Erin Condren. You can get them personalized and it’s really made my life much more organized.
I’ve got a serious coffee addiction and now I’ve formed the same addiction to coffee mugs. I’ve started to collect them actually. I love this Dream Chaser one. I am a huge dreamer. Always have been, always will be. This is from Renee Redesigns and I got the gold coasters too, which also make a great decorative piece as well! I like using them for my candles.
Speaking of coffee…. haha I found this at Target (here). I couldn’t resist. It’s on top of my new storage unit.
How cute is this camera photo holder? It comes in a set of 3 at Target (here).
I’m obsessed with candles, especially when I’m on the computer. This candle in particular is my new favorite. It has a wood wick and it smells amazing.
It’s from Alex & Ani.
A giant clothespin, because why not? I almost got an even bigger one, but I decided to take it down a notch lol. I’m going to use this to clip important reminders for the day. It was only $1.50 at Michaels.
Fresh flowers are the best and a lovely way to freshen up your space. My flower obsession started when I was really young. My father always bought me a bouquet for every dance recital, school play, birthday, and Valentine’s Day without fail. So I’ve continued the tradition by buying them almost on a weekly basis.
I’ve had this for about two years now. My sister gave it to me for Christmas and unfortunately does not remember where she purchased it from. I don’t know why, but I just love it so much.
How cute is this gold sequin hanger? It makes a fab decorative piece for the wall.
I got this from Sadie & Tenell.
All I have left to do is hang a few more photos on the wall and finish setting up my other cubicle. Feels good to finally have this all set up! I hope that you enjoyed this post and maybe it even gave you a little bit of decorating inspo 🙂
Happy hump day loves <3
