The 28-Day #GetInMotion Challenge

We are officially one full month into 2018! Have you been sticking to your goals and resolutions? Apparently 80% of New Year’s resolutions are broken by February 1st!

I’ve been on this new personal journey to take better care of my mind, body and spirit. Even though I’m only a couple of weeks in, I’m already seeing and feeling improvements. I’m determined to keep up this consistency so that I can continue to grow and get stronger, in all aspects, every single day.

This is a huge reason why I am so excited to partner with Tampax Pearl Active and Target again on their new 28-day #GetInMotion challenge to stay active every day in February, even when I’m on my period. Did you know that it takes 21 days to form a habit? The average menstrual cycle is 21-28 days, so this means that if you push through your period to stay consistent with your fitness routine, then you can reach these goals that much faster!

I can be the first to admit that I’ve often used my period as an excuse not to work out. That usually means that I’ve let 5-7 days go by without staying active in some way. Truthfully, when I let go of that consistency, those 5-7 days turns into two weeks or sometimes even longer.

Lately, I’ve been pushing through, even if it’s only a short walk with my dogs or doing a light workout from home. Despite the cramping or bloating that I may experience during this time, I’ve actually found that “getting in motion” makes me feel better!

The best part about working out with Tampax Pearl Active is that it provides MotionFit™ Protection to protect you during your workouts. It moves with you for up to 100% leak-free workouts! Tampax Pearl Active provides the best possible protection to help you push through that time of the month. This definitely makes me feel confident to take fitness classes when Aunt Flow shows up for a visit. I also love their new packaging! It gets me more motivated to push through.

In order to stay active every day this month, I am going to incorporate a mix of several different workouts. It’s important to listen to your body, so on those days where I’m feeling a bit more tired, I’ll make sure to tone it down. Here’s what I plan on doing.

Strength Training

I don’t have a gym membership, but I’ve been doing a combination of two different workout programs from home called BBG and 21Day Fix. BBG focuses on abs/arms, legs/cardio, and full body workouts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This program always makes me feel stronger! The other days are focused on cardio, so that’s when I like to incorporate 21 Day Fix. If I feel as though I can’t do a high intensity workout one day, then I’ll slow things down with yoga or pilates from 21 Day Fix.

305 Fitness

To kick off this partnership, Tampax hosted a class at 305 Fitness and I quickly became obsessed. It’s basically a high intensity dance cardio class that incorporates a mix of dance moves, sports drills, conditioning exercises and interval training. It was challenging AND fun! I think that those are the best workout classes. I told two of my friends about this and we are going to take a class or two together this month.

Cyclebar/SoulCycle

I took several indoor cycling classes last year, mostly Cyclebar because of the location, and loved it! This is one of those classes that really pushes me and leaves me feeling so energized and motivated. The best part is that I constantly went on the weekends with one of my friends, making it even more fun and motivating. I would love to start going back again this month at least once a week.

Boxing

My first and only boxing class was back in September during NYFW and I left feeling extremely sore, but so empowered. I would love to go back at some point this month and take another class. It’s an amazing workout, but what stuck with me the most was the way the trainers motivated me to keep going.

Walking/Running

I know it’s still winter, but we’ve been lucky to get warmer temps lately. I like to take advantage of this by going for a walk or run at the park. I also love to walk up and down the hills by my house. I go slow, but it’s always a killer leg workout.

As you can see, there’s a lot of different ways that I plan to stay active. I think it’s important to try different things until you find what works for you. I personally like focusing on workouts that empower me and make me realize my strength. So many times in the past I have told myself that I could not do something. Proving myself wrong has been an incredible feeling!
Who’s ready to get active this month with me?

Show me how you’re getting in motion in February by posting your sweat selfies on Instagram, using #GetInMotion and tagging @Tampax. You’ll have the chance to win a year’s supply of Tampax Pearl Active and a 30 day pass to 24 Hour Fitness. Their MotionFit™ Protection will help you stay on track for the rest of 2018 to hit all your fitness goals!

I hope that this motivates you to try something different every day and that it gives you an extra boost of confidence to continue working out, even during your period. What are some of the workouts that you love and plan on doing? I’m always looking for something new.

Throughout the month, I will be sharing my progress on IG Stories. I feel like this holds me more accountable and I’m excited to stay consistently active!

You can buy Tampax Pearl Active at Target. If you’re like me and go to Target once a week (sometimes twice), then head to the feminine care aisle and search for this new white packing from Tampax Pearl Active. It stands out on the shelf now has these two active ladies on the front. One’s running and one is striking a yoga pose. ☺️

If you buy your tampons online, check out this link. I would recommend buying the box that includes multiple absorbencies. This way you are protected from your heaviest days to your lightest!

Let’s go girls! We got this.
