Bridesmaid Snaps

Happy April!

I was in my first wedding over the weekend for one of my close friends, Maria, and I wanted to share a little bit about my experience as well as some snaps from throughout the process.  Hopefully when the photos come in, I will be able to share some of those too!  I didn’t realize how much planning went into a wedding.  I mean, I did, but when you are involved in the wedding you see it from a different side and I give so much credit to anyone who has ever planned one.  I have to say though that our bride pretty much did everything on her own.  She’s superwoman!  She did not want to put burden on other people and she had a very clear idea of what she wanted. Although at times emotions were high, which is completely normal, it was such a beautiful and special day and she definitely put together an amazing wedding.

As one of her bridesmaids, the only thing that I really needed to do was get involved with the bachelorette planning, bridal shower prep, choosing the dress, engagement & rehearsal dinners, and giving a speech at the wedding.  Of course I was there to help with any other details or issues that came up before the big day, but for the most part those were my duties! Our dresses were under $100, which was amazing, and it’s a dress that I would honestly wear again.  We actually got them from ASOS.  To be honest at first, I didn’t really see these as bridesmaids dresses, but when we were all in them together next to the bride it came together so perfectly.  I actually really liked that they were not the typical bridesmaid dress.  I already had shoes to wear, we went light on accessories and I just had to worry about getting my makeup done.  I was able to do my own hair.  I loved that she gave us the option.

I think giving the speech was the most special part.  There was no maid of honor, but there were 9 bridesmaids.  Half was family and half was friends.  So the friends (4 of us), each wrote something special and gave the speech together.  Public speaking has always made me nervous, but after a few glasses of champagne I was good to go. [lol] But in all seriousness, I am happy that we all spoke because it truly touched her.  The day of the wedding started super early and ended super late (of course), but it was an incredible day filled with love and happiness and I don’t think it could have gone any better.

Here are some photos from the bridal shower, bachelorette, rehearsal dinner and the wedding! These are all from my iPhone so apologize for the poor quality. 🙂

For the bridal shower, she had all the bridesmaids wear different shades of pink!

This was from her bachelorette in AC.  We tried planning a big trip to either Las Vegas or Mexico, but it didn’t work out and that’s ok.  It ended up just being 3 of us that were able to do it and we had fun regardless!  I love these girls so much.  My friends for years!

At the rehearsal dinner, she gave us our bridesmaids pressies!  They were hangers with our names spelled out and pink silky robes that say bridesmaid on the back and our initials on the front.  So special.

Wedding day glam selfies with my besties! Loved the makeup.

The beautiful couple!

My bridesmaid babes!

I wish I had more photos with the beautiful bride, but those will hopefully come in soon and I can’t wait to see them.  We shot at Lambert Castle, which is stunning.  Such a great location. I love you Maria and thank you for having me be apart of such a special day and new chapter in your life!
