Grey & Blush + Life Lately

Well hello there beauties! I wanted to check in with a little life lately update plus a few photos of this grey & blush look that I wore over the weekend. If I am being completely
honest, majority of this shoot was a fail because it got so cold and windy, so I cut it short and decided to share just a few images. Sometimes that happens and not all photos are good ones. Shooting during the winter season is definitely not my favorite and sometimes I just don’t want to get dressed up to shoot at all. In full transparency, I have been pretty behind with my current content. I am usually a week ahead of the game, but over these last few weeks I keep having to play catch up. I do have some exciting projects in the works for this month as well as for later this year that I can’t wait to share, so I have been prepping for some of those now to get my content ready. I’ve also been trying to give myself a lot more ME time than I did last year, so because of that I’ve been in this major zone of getting my workouts in (I’m 6 weeks in!) and doing things separate from work, like finishing my TEFL course. It’s honestly been pretty amazing! I still need to find that proper balance of juggling both, but I think I am slowly getting better at it.  I am not sure if any of you have noticed or not, but I have been posting less frequently to
Instagram lately too. It’s been a month since I have posted on a Saturday and I typically only post 1 photo on Sundays now. I really wanted to start giving myself the weekends to unplug a little more. Last year I was so caught up in the mentality of having to constantly post and keep up my presence on social media that I sometimes felt like I was forcing my content. I got a little too cray cray about my feed and started putting unnecessary pressure on myself. I was trying too hard to keep up this certain flow that it honestly just stopped working for me. I think without realizing it I was letting the quantity aspect be greater than the quality. So this year, I promised myself the first day of January that I wouldn’t post just to post. If I don’t have anything that I really want to share, then I won’t. If I don’t have content prepared for that day and can’t think of something to create, then I am not going to force it. I want things to flow naturally and I want what I post to have some value to it. My feed still has a certain aesthetic to it, but it’s been happening this way much more naturally than it was before and I love it! I stopped putting so much pressure on myself and because of that creativity flows more organically. It makes me happier. I don’t want what I do to ever feel forced.

With so much going on lately, I decided to skip almost all of NYFW this season. I am only
going to a few things here and there and will not be staying in the city like I normally do. I have a fun partnership this Sunday for the Tracy Reese presentation that I will be sharing to both the blog and Instagram so stay tuned for that! Fashion week is a great opportunity and I’m so thankful that I have been able to attend these last several years. It was always a dream of mine and I never imagined that I would get to go. I’ve never been a huge fan of the winter season though, so I can’t lie I don’t think I will have that much FOMO. lol Plus, there’s always September! Speaking of New York, you guys know that a huge goal of mine this year is to finally make the move there. I’ve been checking out so many places online to get a feel for the best areas that work within my budget and basically to have a better idea of what I can expect. In a couple of months, I plan to start checking out places in person and God willing, I will find my place by fall the latest!

I am planning to do some new fitness posts once the weather warms up a little bit and by then I will be more than 2 months in. I want to work on some new foodie posts as well as travel and more! Speaking of travel, Iceland did not work out for me this winter 😕 but I am in the process of working out a trip to Spain in May! I would be doing Barcelona solo and meeting up with a friend in Madrid. She already booked her flight, so I need to get on that asap. I might be doing Italy next year because my best friend just got engaged and that’s where her wedding is going to be. I am the Maid of Honor! I figured I could just extend my stay and do all the places in Italy that I wanted to do this year. Last thing, my email subscription newsletter is still in the works, but I am loving it so far and can’t wait to officially launch that, so stay tuned! Well, that is it for now loves. Just wanted to fill you all in on what’s been going on lately in my world. I’ll be back tomorrow with a full outfit post. Kisses!
